Another technical article here. trying to use DHCP class ids to secure out churches network. However I want to throw vista out the door and stomp on it XP works great. But vista and this horrible UAC junk is not helping me out I was first going to just manually rdp into each computer and run it. However now I can’t even change the classid from commandline. It says it does it but then it doesn’t aahhh. Well off to investigate.

Well hello to all, I made my own wireless bridge a while back and thought I would tell you all how I did it.

Step 1. Load DD-WRT v24 on something. go to their site if you need to know how to install it.

Step 2. go to wireless settings and change to the following for the main router.

            a. Wireless Mode -> AP

           b. Wireless Network Mode -> Mixed

          c. Wireless SSID broadcast -> Enable

           d.  Network Configuration -> Bridged.

Step 3.  Wireless security tab

         a.  Security mode -> WPA2 personal

         b. WPA Algorithims -> TKIP+AES

        c. WPA shared key -> anything you want.

On new router that you want to become AP.

   Step 1. Wireless tab

         a. Wireless Mode -> Client Bridge

         b. Wireless Network Mode -> Mixed

         c. Wireless Network Name -> Same exact as what you named on the main router.

         d.  Network configuration -> Bridged

Step 2. Wireless Security tab

        a. Security mode -> WPA2 personal

        b. WPA algorithims -> TKIP+AES

        c. WPA shared key -> samekey as main router

for both routers the Advanced settings tab under wireless should look the same.

Authentication rate -> Auto

basic rate -> Default

and you should be good to go. I found this info on the dd-wrt wiki. A great place to find info.
