Chris Muench » Extreme CMS http://cmuench.com Just another WordPress weblog Mon, 19 Jul 2010 01:56:44 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.0.1 Hallajuah http://cmuench.com/2007/12/hallajuah/ http://cmuench.com/2007/12/hallajuah/#comments Sat, 01 Dec 2007 19:40:42 +0000 Chris http://www.cmuench.com/2007/12/01/hallajuah/ Continue reading →]]> Well I’m finally just aoout done with my side project.  Its finally starting to wrap up.  I still have some little bugs and things but overall its going very well.  I will be taking some time off from my side consulting.  My main job, certs, college, life, certain other friend(who know who you are) are going to be taking most of my time for the next 6 months.  I also want to release 1.0 of extremecms.  I haven’t released a version in about a year and its in desperate need of some help.  The admin interface is a disgrace, the main code is somewhat trashy and the files are spread out all over the place.  I will also add a database layer class to it so that you can use postgresql, or mysql :) . I have been using postgresql quite a bit latelty and overall its very nice.  However I’m still more familiar with myql or mssql(main db at work).  So overall I forecast the next 6months to be very good.  Trying to keep my head up over the water.  Oh yeah and we are also moving in the next couple of weeks so the packing begins.

Other than that this week has been extremely boring. Nice and long.  I did finish the church calendar though.  Whenever we get the new hosting up(hopefully tomorrow) then we will put the new calendar on.  Its totally database driven and the administration page could be run by the church secratary.  So less work for me.

And now I’m working on the sermon uploading page.  That should be interesting.  I’m looking into using some ajax/php scripts to make uploading easier. Because again I can’t be the only one doing this.  So I’m going to make it as easy as possible.  Hopefully I will finish it this week and then I can concentrate on my dad’s website.  Prudent Investments LLC.  that should be interesting.  I will be using my CMS for that one.

But I’m going to have to figure out how to make differnet links and make them SEO.  Like the following for example.
the link is index.php?cat=1&id=1
Well I have to develop a system  to change the link to the following
index.php/main/homepage

Maybe I’m just dreaming but I think it can be accomplshied.  Anyway I got to run and go to bed.  good night all.

I got 3 commitments this week at American Mortgage specialists.  not bad for my 2nd week.  Ijust have to remind myself of the 9 dollars an hour.(don’t tell anyone).  But another week is in the bag and moving into the weekend.  This weekend should be quite interesting.

1st I get to help Pastor Rudy dig up some concrete to help bury some network cablesto connect the buildings together.  Also hopefully we’ll connect the administration building to the audtorium so we can upload mp3 of the sermons to the website.  that should make my job easier for uploading.

Also some time this coming week we will be moving the church website to hostingtruth.net for more bandwith for them and also we will increasing their disk space tenfold.  All the while saving them money :)

Well thats about it.  Also I have to find a new calendar app for my CMS.  If you know of a good small one that lets you plan events for days please let me know.
